Anti-Racism Small Groups
Come together with others committed to learning about and dismantling racism and white supremacy through a Christian lens. Our first small group this summer was a book group that read "The Cross and The Lynching Tree" by Dr. James Cone together. This fall, anti-racism small groups will run bi-weekly throughout the semester and focus on learning and action through engaging with books, movies, podcasts, etc.
Fall 2020 Small Group: Repairing Harm
For our first anti-racism small group, we we will explore the concept of "reparation," which is the idea that community healing and racial justice require actual, concrete repair of harms that have been done to people of color. We will engage with articles, video, podcasts, etc. that investigate the idea of reparation historically, economically, and theologically as people of faith. It should be really interesting and help us identify concrete actions we can take for racial justice in our own lives and communities. We will meet 3-4 times over Zoom in October and November (dates TBD). Want to sign up? Fill out this form by 10/14 if you want to participate. |
