LaMP students come from a variety of schools, backgrounds, faith traditions, and identities. We come together each week to break bread and connect with God and one another in community. We do our best to follow in the radically loving, justice seeking way of Jesus. If you are a college or graduate student in New York City, there is a place for you here.
LaMP meets every Monday evening during the academic year for dinner, conversation, and communion in community. We also host Midnight Pancakes Study Breaks every semester for the wider student community. Scroll down to learn more!

Monday Night Dinners
All college and graduate students are welcome to join us each Monday evening at 7:00pm for dinner, conversation about faith and life, and communion in community. We talk about all kinds of things - from scripture to student life to issues of justice. We make space to revel in and wrestle with the complexities of living out Christian faith in our beautiful, messed up world. These dinners are a chance to connect with yourself, community, and God. Also, the food is free and good. We hope to see you there!

Who's Who?
Liv Kouveras. Liv is a senior at Columbia College majoring in Religion and Education Studies. After graduating, she hopes to be able to get her teacher's certificate and also be able to work in youth ministry as well. She has always grown up going to church at home in Bucks County, PA, but really started getting involved in her sophomore year of high school, especially with the worship team and youth group. Now, Liv loves to grow deeper in her faith as well as grow closer to other members of the community. In her spare time, Liv loves to read, play guitar, or whip up a new recipe in her kitchen.
James Vaughan. James is a senior at Columbia University from New York City by way of Atlanta, GA. At Columbia, James is an Anthropology major along with being a pitcher on the Lions baseball team. James grew up in the church, as both of his parents are ordained ministers who have practiced in churches at various points in his life and have emphasized religiosity as part of their family values. After graduating from Columbia, and hopefully playing some professional baseball, James hopes to teach middle school, following in his extended family’s long tradition of education. James is adamant that we, humans, are god’s gift to each other, and that life is a blessing, and he hopes to spread the equitable will of God through impactful relationships as long James lives. James’s upbringing in social justice oriented religious spaces, both Christian and non-Christian, raised him to see God and Jesus as social radicals who believe in racial, LGBTQ+, women’s, and class equity. In his free time, James enjoys anything baseball-related (go Red Sox!), listening to music (send good recs!), eating burritos (more recs please!), playing his electric bass, baking, and starting pointless arguments with his friends. James has an A.A. from Monroe College in Human Services.
Congregational Partners
LaMP is lucky to have three amazing partner congregations in the neighborhood who love and support our student community:
Advent Lutheran Church - 93rd St. & Broadway
Broadway Presbyterian Church - 114th St. & Broadway
St. Paul & St. Andrew United Methodist Church - 86th St. & West End Ave.
These congregations provide home-cooked meals for LaMP each week, volunteer at Late Night Study Breaks, support LaMP financially, and LOVE to welcome students to worship and all other aspects of congregational life. These congregations have vibrant worship, active young adult members, and are engaged in meaningful justice work in the community. They all also enthusiastically welcome the participation and leadership of women and LGBTQIA+ people. Check them out!
